Superconducting ring in the coil field

Translated By: Stefan Nicov

Far from a coil there is a ring made from superconducting material. The initial current in the ring is zero. The figure shows the magnetic field lines near the end of the coil. The z-axis is the symmetry axis of the coil's magnetic field.

The ring is brought into the magnetic field of the coil. First the ring takes position 1 and then position 2.

1 Determine the ratio of the current $\frac{I_1}{I_2}$ flowing in the ring at these positions.

2 Determine the ratio of forces $\frac{F_1}{F_2}$ acting on the ring at these positions, state their directions.
